The information has been obtained from printed timetables and other local sources (like taking the bus) and is given in good faith.

Albufeira - Lagos Linha Litoral (LL, route 51) and Transrápido (TR, Route 57) are fast buses stopping only at main stops.

Other routes are interurban buses stopping everywhere; not all buses are shown here.

Advanced reservation is not possible. Tickets cannot be obtained on-line except via the VAMUS Algarve app.
When boarding at a BUS TERMINAL you usually must buy your ticket from the ticket office window!

A - Albufeira Bus Terminal is 1 mile (1.6km) from the old town, beaches and many of the hotels. Click here for more information.
B -  Stop number 2 for fast buses on routes 51 and 57. The other buses use stop 3 next to it - map.
The railway station is 800 metres from here. The terminal at Rua Abicada used by long distance services (Lisbon, Spain etc) also Aerobus 56 is 1 mile / 1.6km from here.
C - buses that stop in Guia also stop on request at Algarve Shopping, 1 minute after Guia (direction Albufeira or Faro) or 1 minute before Guia (direction Portimão or Lagos)
D - connections available from/ to Portimão using the local Vai e Vem buses. Separate ticket needed. Details here.
E - this is 1.6km (almost a mile) from Portimão city centre and the stops in Avenida Guanaré used by the other buses
F - Local buses run every 30 - 60 minutes between Faro Bus Station and the Airport. Click here for details and links to timetables

All buses are operated by VAMUS - Most buses are fitted with wifi. The buses used do not have toilets on board, so go before you get on.

WEEKEND CONNECTIONS TO SAGRES - There are few weekend connections at Lagos for Sagres except with several hours waiting.
 *** connections are NOT guaranteed. Separate ticket is needed Lagos - Sagres timetable in full here
 The ONLY buses from Lagos to Sagres at weekends and holidays in winter  leave at 0700, 1015, 1230 and 1715hrs.
¶  Albufeira RAILWAY STATION is nearly 4 miles / 6km from town.There is no bus connection into town during the winter.
For train travel towards Lagos, a bus leaves Albufeira Bus Station at 2030hrs, arriving at 2047. This is Giro route 11

* - buses run between Faro and Albufeira via Quarteira and Vilamoura at irregular intervals, very infrequent at weekends and on holidays.
+ - local buses run at irregular and very infrequent intervals between Portimão and Lagos. Not all are shown here. These do NOT run via Alvor and Praia da Rocha.

The arrival times in Lagos from Sagres are according to the printed timetable which VAMUS has confirmed are correct.
The timetable has been 'padded' to cover possible late arrival and to avoid missed connections.

There are few weekend connections at Lagos for eastbound buses
The arrivals at Lagos from Sagres at weekends and on holidays in winter are ONLY at 0905, 1310, 1500 and 1935

No bus connection into Albufeira Bus Station except in summer, which leaves at 2147
