TRANSRÁPIDO FAST BUS FARO <> ALBUFEIRA <> PORTIMÃO  <> LAGOS

This page is unofficial. The information has been obtained from printed timetables and other local sources (like taking the bus) and is given in good faith.

checked-and-updated

Operated by EVA

TIMETABLE FROM  17th September UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
This service is currently FOUR journeys each way on weekdays. There are two buses each way at weekends and holidays. Official timetable here.

Transrápido buses are fitted with wifi but do not have toilets. Must have the priorities correct!!

Reservations are not possible. These buses do not serve the airport - for the airport/city connections click here

Transrápido buses stop only at the places shown on the timetable.
But, although the timetable also does not say so, these buses also stop at the 'Algarve Shopping' Mall near Guia
Time at Algarve Shopping 1 minute after Guia going towards Faro, 1 minute before Guia towards Portimão.
I have also been on one that stopped at Portimão Hospital. Again, this stop is not shown in the timetable.

Timekeeping

Timekeeping is very poor on this route, partly because of traffic congestion and partly because the timetables are unrealistic.
. Expect delays of 10 - 15 minutes towards the end of your journey on any day of the week.

Accessibility

The vehicles used are what would be called coaches in the UK. They are NOT wheelchair accessible.
They have luggage compartments for big bags. They do NOT have on board toilets, so go before you get on.
There is no time at any intermediate stop.

Tickets

Tickets cannot be purchased on line. If boarding at a bus station, you buy your ticket at the bus station ticket office if it's open.
Otherwise pay the driver, cash only, when boarding.

Other buses run between Faro and Albufeira (via Vilamoura); also between Albufeira, Guia, Armação De Pêra, Lagos and Portimão.
