This service is currently FOUR journeys each way on weekdays only. There is no weekend or holiday service. Official timetable here.
Transrápido buses are fitted with wifi but do not
have toilets. Must have the priorities correct!!
There are only two journeys each way on Saturdays, Sundays and
Reservations are not possible. These buses do not serve the airport - for the airport/city connections click here
There is a very limited service of direct buses every day between the airport, Albufeira, Portimão and Lagos. Click here for details.
Transrápido buses stop only at the places shown on the timetable.
But, although the timetable also does not say so, these buses also stop at the 'Algarve Shopping' Mall near Guia
Time at Algarve Shopping 1 minute after Guia going towards Faro, 1 minute before Guia towards Portimão.
I have also been on one that stopped at Portimão Hospital. Again, this stop is not shown in the timetable.
Timekeeping is very poor on this route, partly
because of traffic congestion and partly because the timetables
. Expect delays of 10 - 15 minutes towards the end of your journey on any day of the week.
The vehicles used are what would be called coaches
in the UK. They are NOT wheelchair accessible.
They have luggage compartments for big bags. They do NOT have on board toilets, so go before you get on.
There is no time at any intermediate stop.
Tickets cannot be purchased on line. If boarding
at a bus station, you buy your ticket at the bus station ticket
office if it's open.
Otherwise pay the driver, cash only, when boarding.
Other buses run between
Faro and Albufeira (via Vilamoura); also between Albufeira, Guia,
Armação De Pêra, Lagos and Portimão.
