LOCAL BUS AND TRAM/STREETCAR OPERATORS IN OTHER REGIONS OF PORTUGAL -

Checked and updated where necessary on 21st  May 2023

THESE WEBSITES ARE ONLY IN PORTUGUESE UNLESS STATED. MANY DO NOT HAVE A LIST OF TIMETABLES OR  BUS ROUTE MAPS!
SOME COMPANIES HAVE 'APPS' YOU CAN DOWNLOAD TO YOUR MOBILE DEVICE
This list of bus companies has been compiled as a result of travels around Portugal and from questions asked.
I have compiled summary timetables for some of the long distance routes serving major tourist destinations here.
Many rural areas are served by small bus operators who do not have websites. Local council often have no information on their sites.
Often the only way to find out if a bus goes where you want to go is to ask at the bus station in a nearby town.

PORTO, AVEIRO, BRAGA, COIMBRA, COVILHÃ, GUARDA, GUIMARÃES, ÉVORA, ELVAS, VIDIGUEIRA AND SINES

I visited these towns and cities (they are NOT in the Algarve!) and picked up some more detailed information about local trains, trams and buses while I was there. I have added information to this site, which I hope will be of help if you are planning to visit any of these places. They are a long way from the Algarve, so a day trip is not possible. They are all quite pleasant in their own way! Porto  Aveiro  Braga Coimbra Guimarães Sines Covilhã Guarda Évora Elvas Vidigueira
