SUMMARY OF DIRECT BUSES BETWEEN ALBUFEIRA BUS STATION AND MAR SHOPPING  / IKEA SUITABLE FOR A DAY OUT

Information correct at 1st February 2024 The bus service is not what it used to be! The journey takes about 1 hour, except for the late bus back on weekdays, which takes 30 minutes longer because of a long wait in Loulé bus station.

In Albufeira, these buses stop on the main road (Avenida dos Descobrimentos) outside the Continente supermarket about four minutes after leaving the bus station. They also stop up in Montechoro opposite the Casa do Benfica bar about 8 minutes after leaving the bus station.

From Albufeira Bus station at 0800, 1045 and 1430.

Return from Mar Shopping ONLY at 1042, 1502 and 1742

The 1742 bus waits 30 minutes at Loulé bus station, not a pleasant place in which to wait. There is nowhere else to wait and maybe have a drink within five minutes walk.

SATURDAYS, SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS

From Albufeira Bus Station at 0800, 1045 and 1430

Return from Mar Shopping at 1042, 1502 and 1742. At weekends the 1742 bus waits only 15 minutes in Loulé.

MAR SHOPPING VIA QUARTEIRA

There is now an alternative way to reach Mar Shopping from Albufeira. A change of bus is needed in Quarteira Bus Station.

Connections are not guaranteed. You need a separate ticket for each bus unless you have the tourist pass.

The buses from Albufeira pass along the main road across town and also stop in Santa Eulalia, Balaia and Olhos D'Agua.

Mar Shopping leave DAILY at 1200, 1515, 1645 and 1930 arriving in
Quarteira Bus Station 1225, 1540, 1710 and 1955

Buses from Quarteira to Albufeira without too long a wait at

1257 daily, 1627 (Weekdays only), 1737 daily and also at 1957 but that's
a bit risky as it is the last bus from Quarteira to Albufeira. You could get off at the stop before the bus station and run across the road!
